Parent-Teacher Meet 2009

At about 2.45pm, my parents and i set off for school with mixed feelings. Firstly, i felt that our teacher would appraise me for my hardwork. Yet, on the otherhand, the fear that our teacher may chide me for my gaming habits still lingered in my mind. Nonetheless, i was going to find out soon....I hope it does not turn out to become a disaster!

In the twinkle of an eye, we arrived at our destination and we hurried for the classroom as fast as our legs could carry us as we were about 10minutes late due to long waiting time for the bus. My parents complained that climbing up to the fourth story was no easy feat. I feel it is true to a certain extent as we were panting heavily, beads of perspiration streaming down our foreheads.

Upon our arrival at the classroom, we sat in the table inside the classroom where we waited for our turn. There were some newspapers there for my parents to overcome their boredom. During that time, Mrs Ritu was meeting Faraaz's parents.

"You better cultivate your reading habit" my ears prickled to hear a piece of the interesting conversation. Faraaz nodding his head sheepishly... thats what everyone does right?

Not long after our turn came and Mrs Ritu greeted us with a welcoming smile. We sat on our seats and the conversation began.

Referring to my report book, Mrs Ritu congratulated for my good results and told me there was room for improvement for my Science and Literature. She informed my parents that learning Shakespearean language was not easy to interpret. She encouraged me to read more books as it can improve my English. I nodded my head in embarrassment as reading had never been associated with my life. When my parents told Mrs Ritu about my gaming habits, her eyes widened and she gasped in astonishment. She said she never knew until now that i played computer games. Nevertheless, she told me to balance work and play and appealed that i continue my studying during my holidays. This was followed by a long, boring lecture about other aspects where there were need for improvement and i nodded my head like a robot. Soon, the meet was over and we waved goodbye and set off home.

In conclusion, i feel the meet was not bad as i had anticipated and it helped me realize areas where i need improvement. Yet, on the contrary, I felt that my parents mention about my gaming habit was not really necessary as I've managed to curb my playing time and increased my studying time. After all, life is full of both good and bad times. There are always postive and negatice aspects in everyting. Being optimistic and positive minded combined with relentless hardwork is the key to achieving success, both academically as well as other 'stuffs'. LOLz
